About
I’m Lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer based in Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire.
I have studied photography to degree level with the Open College of the Arts. Over the past decade I have focused on a lifestyle and documentary style of photography. I use this background in documentary to influence my practice when working with clients to bring a fresh, relaxed, fun and collaborative approach. This captures family moments in candid moments in either digital or print form.

Whilst I’m based in Laurencekirk, I’m originally from Stonehaven and still have many connections there. I have lived in the South of England and spent time travelling around Australia, where I first began to take an interest in photography. I cover south Aberdeenshire and North Angus, although I’m always willing to travel further and explore new places.
I have experience in working with children and take the well-being of your family seriously, I am a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme. We’ll work together to ensure that your photography session is a relaxed and pleasurable experience for you and your family and to support you through the process from arranging the session to ordering your products. I strongly believe in an individualised service to meet your needs as unique people.
I enjoy spending time outdoors walking in the hills of Aberdeenshire, exploring our coast or visiting galleries and exhibitions when not out with my cameras. I have an interest in historical sites, so I can often be found in places of historical significance, both indoors and outdoors. I’m inspired by the photography of Henri Cartier-Bresson, Jitka Hanzlova and Jonas Bendikson, although there are many more that I could mention.
Midsummer Beer Happening
In 2015 I took my camera and a 50mm lens to Midsummer Beer Happening and made some photographs. A few days later I shared my images through a Flicker page, and the Midsummer Beer Happening crew liked them. January 2016, I was asked if I’d like to come back over the course of the weekend and I said ‘yes’. Ten years later, I am still enjoying craft beers and making images for the Midsummer Beer Happening team. For more image from Midsummer Beer Happening, you can have a look at my MSBH gallery. The images below are from Midsummer Beer Happening 2015.
